Kenya TradeNet System is an electronic platform implemented by Kenya Trade Network Agency. The System implemented and launched in 2013, is an online platform that serves as a single entry point for parties involved in international trade and transport logistics to lodge documents electronically, for processing, approvals and to make payments electronically for fees, levies, duties and taxes due to the Government, on goods imported or exported in the country.
This is in line with Article 10, Section 4.1 of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement where Member countries are required to establish or maintain a single window enabling traders to submit documentation for importation, exportation or transit of goods.
The TradeNet System which has been integrated with key Partner Government Agencies to facilitate faster and efficient documentation for cargo clearance across its borders has reduced the time taken to process and submit clearance documents consequently reducing the cost of doing business in Kenya.
